Thank God for yesterday.

Although I'm still sadden over the fact that grandpa has gone on, selfishly I was quite happy. When I arrived at the wake, mum asked me if I could offer incense to grandpa. Obviously I said I can't as a Christian.

Thank you brothers and sisters for praying for me and my family. I believe God letting me off this time round from persecution is not because I will prevail in His name, but there are more important things for me to accomplish.

When I walked grandma up to her home, I really struggled. I didn't know how to share Christ with her. In my heart it pains me as I try to get her to take some rest. Her frail body taking each step up the stairs and into the house felt like thistles pricking my heart with every beat.

The Holy Spirit must be telling me that I should share with her the gospel... Obviously I didn't, it was late, she needed to rest, she cannot understand English and my Mandarin is not strong enough to share the gospel. Oh me oh my... thousand and one excuses... all I can say is that i'm ashamed of myself...

Later on will be another day at the wake. Thank God for his awesome timing, coincidentally this is the only week that I do not have weekend classes... I wonder... It means that I could stay up late to support my family at the wake and have a good rest this morning til all the ceremonies will be over and I can head over in the evening again.

Brothers and sisters-in-Christ, please please please pray for my family. Kar Qian have been a babe to me, we've grown closer and I treasure this kinship. Pray for her salvation together with her family. Pray for my grandma and her salvation, no doubt she doesn't seem to suffer any illness but I really hope the time that she have left in this world will be an enjoyable and comfortable one.

Thank you and thank God once again.

Grandpa passed away...

On the 9th Feb 2012.

Although I can't say we're very close, we're not very cold either. My grandpa is the cool dude kind, the very few men of that era that speak fluent English and was a Policeman in his younger days.

My favourite memories with him were during the younger primary school days where Ben & I were often brought out to Orchard road to buy toys. He often get us into those 20c kiddy rides and never tires.

Subsequently as we grew into secondary and tertiary schools, meetings were once in awhile and brief. We would watch TV during CNY and he would give the darnest comments to make everyone laugh. I would miss that every CNY... =(

The part that saddens me is the speed of his condition. He was looking so fine on 初二 of CNY when he visited us, albeit his slight dementia. He still could joke about his memory loss and laugh about it. A week later, he landed up in hospital when I was sailing. Mum said he could respond, recall and react normally the 1st day he was admitted.

The day when I came back from the sail I had a rude shock and went to visit him the moment I got the news. He couldn't recognise me or my father. He cannot focus and had to be restrained. It pains my heart to see my ah gong treated like this even though I knew it was for his own good.

When I visited him on my own on the following Monday he was admitted to Neuro ICU. He cannot recognise me, he cannot response and cannot speak, I couldn't get him to look me in the eye. I tried to share Jesus with him but I'm not sure if he heard or understood me. He was so weak that whenever he tried to struggle out of his restrain, he would fall asleep and wake up a minute later. It just continues until I couldn't bear to watch anymore.

Today, another rude shock after work. Re-admitted to Neuro ICU... Urghh... Uncle Meng said that he had a fit and subsequently many blood clots in the brain. Doctor warned us to be prepared for the worst. I hate that... How do you prepare for the worst? It's nonsensical... Just be mentally prepared would be fine. The sight of him lying there and the breathing machine forcing air into his body makes me wanna pull all the tubes out... I felt angry and helpless... just can't help but fell helpless. All I did was pray and remind ah gong about Jesus.

10.30pm or so, I received the last news about ah gong... "Grandpa died alrdy" from my mum... Haiz was all I could do. At least there's no more tubes and hoses to be shoved into my grandpa, at least the pain stops, at least he is at peace at last. No more suffering.

I regretted not being able to share with ah gong about Jesus precisely and get a confirm response. I know I will not forget this episode because of the images that I've seen, the suffering that he underwent during his short week stay in the hospital. How can a life flash pass so fast in a week in a hospital? All my visits I question the medical staffs, but to no avail as to what is his condition and why so fast...

I guess only Jesus knows...

Well... Thank God for blogs!

It's been awhile and I've got some thoughts that I thought I would like to pen down.

With Twitter, Facebook and all those social media thingy goin on, seems like a new age is booming... New Media as the gahment like to call it has established itself as one powerful force that is difficult to dealt with. Even SOPA and all those policy thingy couldn't get a break. Guess that's what we have for 'people power' in today's context huh?

Anyways... Just came back from another sail... Urgh! How I hate sailing... Absolutely hate! If it weren't for the many men and gals whom were in the same plight as myself, I wouldn't even want to go!

CO STL quotes "The more we sweat during training, the less we bleed during war". I believe in this statement very much, but seriously? Are we even contemplating war? We're a deterrent force for goodness sake! Urggh! NVM...

I just thank God I made it home in 1 piece and apart from breathing all the fumes, sweating all those sweat, I never really worked too hard on this sail. Although the constant rocking and frequent humming from the waves and engine made my head spun, I actually felt quite in control of my emotions and held up pretty well.

Maybe it's the notion that this could be my last sail? Too soon to speak perhaps but I foresee that it'll be so. Speaking of last sail, Ruth Tan! Congratulations on your last sail! Whether or not you'll be seeing this I still wanna mention, you're an inspiration to me and you really put me to shame - in a good way =)

Happy ORD! I bid you farewell and Godspeed on your next phase of life where ever it may be. I pray that God will use you mightily and yea, I really envy you! Haha. Have a great life, we'll catch up over facebook =)

On the way home I was just thinking, God's really mighty. He made us neither too big or too small, the size of Earth the way it is and made men to rule over it. If you can't picture it, download google earth and take a look. Moments ago I was still in a tin can floating on the seas around the China / Taiwan (somewhere around that region) area, moments later i'm here in my comfy room typing and ranting away... Hmmm... gentiles will say that men have grown incredibly smart and have harnessed the knowledge. I say God had made us mighty to rule over this world. God is just so amazing, He makes me see new things and teaches me something new every now and then.

Haven talk about my school, it's been so fast and furious it seems like I was born to do this! I really struggled to take up the course for many many reasons:

I'm not really the studious type.
I'm in the SAF and really, time is not on my side
I haven't studied since Air Force School, minus that it's Poly.

With theses 3 reasons, I asked God if I really needed and wanted to take up the program. I told myself if I were to be able to pay the school fees, i'll give my best shot at it and really spend time to study. Well, God provided the money. Since I've got the money, let's ask permission from work. Surprise surprise! Permission granted! Morning shift til the shift needs me, so far so good =) Finally, it was the assurance that God gave me when I went for the program preview, conducive environment, most of the students were like me part-timers, very enthu counterparts (judging from the 1st impression). Everything seems great.

Well, the rest was basically like this: bridging, bridging over, sem1, sem1 over, sem2, sem2 over and now sem3... oh my oh my... after sem 3 will be the last sem! It's gonna be great!

Really thankful to God! Thank you Lord for providing me and setting a clear path infront of me. I know that what the future holds is in your hands, help me Lord for making the right choices, let me not fail you in anyway and may I glorify your name.

Thank you Jesus for placing such awesome schoolmates to encourage and and support me! For putting them in my life as wonderful friends!

Thank you Father also for the support from Church, thank You for cell that Alan and Sherine would be patient and lead the cell. That the cell members are understanding of my plight and are willing to make sacrifices to their timing to suit mine.

Thank you Lord.

Couldn't fall asleep on the Deepavali night... Slept the whole day I guess that attributed to the insomnia...

Anyway, spent the time researching on my fish... Seems like that's a ray of hope for my poor fish.

I just wonder will Singapore adopt this kind of smartness?

Sometimes thinking of the situation here just saddens me.

Singaporeans are too comfortable with their lives, so much so that manual labor and physical work are deemed low class and 'unfit' for Singaporeans as 'ideal' jobs.

The society here is also degrading. The answer to why our population is shrinking can be traced to 1 root cause. Let's analyze...

Girls at very young age are told the 'excel' in their studies.
They re-prioritize. Studies is important, so that in future can get high paid job.
Primary -> Secondary -> 'A' levels/Diploma -> Bachelors -> Masters -> PHD...
Due to the high cost of living, wanna provide for family therefore working becomes priority.
Because now women can stand on their own feet with good education and good career, eventually they don't need men.
Subsequently they realize they don't need men to provide for them anymore, there's no need for women to rely on men to bring the bread home etc.
Evolution, therefore thinks like men and starts behaving like men.
The rest of the story? Population shrinks and age.

Well, it's my theory.

To counter this? Follow what other countries are doing!

Acknowledge that home-schooling and bringing up children are important!

Part of Singapore's 'total defence', socially stay-home men and women are PAID monthly to home-school or raise their own children.

This way, the so called high cost of living is lessen because the government is actually giving the families a leeway or avenue to become a full-time housewife/husband. Obviously we're not talking about cheats in the system whereby both spouse work and leave the mother or in-law to take care of the children.

I don't understand why so many countries are adopting this system yet Singapore is not?

I'm not trying to be a MCP or what, I don't mind being a househusband, in fact I think it's very relaxing to stay home to do housework, take care of the children, cook, doing what every mother and father will want to do and maybe just live on $800 a month? The rest of the income can just come from 1 spouse, man or woman doesn't matter.

Well, after all said and done, I guess Singaporean's mentality just cannot make it... Sad...

Dear - Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Eric Schmidt.

I love Windows Phone for its customizations ability and how it compatible it is to it's mother OS, Windows. The iOS is also one of my favourite for the ease of use and simplicity, making it so popular amongst everyone. Also Android has captured the imagination of everyone just because it is Open Source. That alone will give users, programmers and phone manufacturers unlimited creativity for future developments.

I just wished that somehow 1 day the world can see the collaboration between theses great wonders that you guys have created and that'll really be something.

Right now in my eyes there's no clear winner. Although truth be told it's not about winning, but as long as there is a 'pie', one that everyone wants a slice of. Perhaps I could shed some light on one 'pie' that most people would disregard.

Non-camera 3G phones...

For countless times, I've been looking for many many phones that can connect me to the world at the touch of my fingertips. One that does not have the irritating but useful function of the Camera. The very plain reason is because my workplace doesn't allow it.

It's pretty simple to understand, I could be from the DoD, Militatry, someone who works in the High Court, certain departments in Hospitals. I could also be someone who deals with sensitive Chemicals, Data, Training Materials. Maybe somebody who is a Prison Warden, Government Official or just someone who cannot have a camera at work.

So I'm pleading on behalf of theses great men and women, those of us who sacrificed our time at work in 'secrecy' and discreetness. Please collaborate with mobile phone companies and create a non-camera 3G phone that has Bluetooth, WiFi, GPRS, GPS, EDGE, QuadBand etc. all the functions WITHOUT a Camera!

I strongly believe that we are no less deserving than those who work out of theses sensitive areas, I believe this would be a wonderful reward that anyone could give us. Yes, we might not be majority of the market, but does this mean we are of less importance? This point really grieves me, who is taking care of us? Society doesn't accept us anymore after all those sacrifices? I do not want to believe so.

On behalf of those whom are standing in my shoes, I ask you, please. Help us! This pie is left untouched...

Nice ending for a nice year

So 2011 is here and there goes 2010!

Looking back, I think I've achieved a whole lot in 2010.

It still feels like a dream when I think of it as I started my year in San Diego. We achieved Operational Readiness even as we migrate back to Singapore. I've learnt a lot this year. From a normal End User all the way up the EM Data Admin and even SM Planner, I think nobody had raised up this ladder so fast, all within a year!

Also the sails!!! URGH!!! The wanting to puke and bad bad camaraderie with the Seamen. Just thinking of it gives me the shudders...

Not to mention I've almost attempted all the IPPT sessions that are available! My OC actually recorded it! 2 Pages long! From Apr to Dec. Finally I've passed, and with flying colors on the last try! Thanks to all that had not given up on me. Thanks to those who paced me, ran with me and trained with me. Let's see if I can continue training and get a Silver timing next work year?

That brings me to the little "pact" that Judah made for me with God... I can't remember clearly was it a verse, chapter or a book. But I'm gonna try my best to at least finish a book of the bible. I will finish it, and I'll find one book that I've not read or not completed before! Pray for me =)

My new year resolutions?
Work less, eat less, 'emo' less.
Service more, cell more, exercise more.

Let's see how things goes this year!

BTW, The Tourist was GREAT! I love Johnny Depp's acting. It's just absorbs you attention and throw you off at the twist. The casting was perfect for this show. Angelina Jolie is the right choice, giving the mysticism, making you wanting to know more and what's next. 4/5 stars! A little more action, a little more humor and it'll be 5 stars =)

Today was such a torrid torrid day!!!

And to think I could take a breather... I actually pushed myself to run longer last night... Oh my...

Can you imagine the kind of responsibility when you step into the office and everyone from every department is waiting for your help??? I have 2 office that I report to and every time I get back to either one the phone just rings and rings out for me... My mail floods and floods... URGHH!!! I hate mails but can't live without it!

I enjoy the person-to-person style of working but it's time consuming and things don't often happen the way you want them to be in the end...

Tomorrow's gonna be a better day I hope...

Got a job offer... I'm very very flattered and surprised... So many people that are many times more knowledgeable and well verse than me... why am I offered over them? I think this is quite a nice pat in the back... The pay is so much higher and the people working here looks so much cheerful and less stressful...

Sickly, I have 2 more years of NS liability... I just hope that Mdm Lee would be still around to rope me in by then... Thanks mdm Lee, you're a very very nice person.

If I'd stay in my old platform, I'd have more chance to go overseas, less time spent on OT and my overseas allowance is at least $80/day.

Compared to now... Every 14 days I could only get $200(not even confirmed B&W) but preparation, un-preparation and so so so so so much OT...

I don't know what the organisation is thinking... Why don't they treasure their man, we are their assets yet still willing to give up our morale and contentment in our jobs...

Finally, it's soon time to go home!

Even going home, the troubles don't stop coming... Oh well.. It's just part of life.

So many of us love soccer. Love to watch, play and support the game.
Yet the sport have not been a mainstream event in Singapore... Nobody can make a living as a soccer player/coach/manager... The Government has not figured out the real concept of soccer - FREEDOM.

Why must the stadiums be controlled by SSC? Sell it to companies which then will manage clubs, bringing in foreign talent would be at their own costs and less sore the the fans.

There will be a heck more jobs created. Imagine the scouts, physios, merchandises and all the money involved. Young men/women would think about Soccer as a career because wages can increase, they'll have a chance to be scouted.

Yes, selling the stadiums would cost no more stadiums for ppl to run or use freely. The benefit outweigh everything else so much. I don't understand why this is not done.

More fans, more talent, more revenue, more passion to be in the game, more SEA games medals and if it succeed, a place in the Olympic Finals.

This question will cease to exist: "Why nobody wants to be a full time soccer player?"

I just feel bad that S-League just involved 2 foreign teams - degrading our people and quality of soccer.

I say sell the stadiums, let clubs managed by companies, just like EPL or all the other leagues in the rest of the world.

Want to sell my black electric guitar... Seems that I don't really know how to play electric style... All I do is strum the same way as the acoustic one =( Other than plucking and melody, there's really nth I can do with it =(

Want to buy a car.. Miata is only USD1k, so is MR2, Celica and RX7 =)
When I'm going back I can sell it to the 2nd frame guys which really I won't lose much.

Night shifts been fun so far. Probably because the management are pressured by us. So the flying stays low, the servicing are getting easier and everything starts falling into place. Thank God!

Right!

So it's been a whole week and a half back in SG and I loved almost every minute of it. Except for the selfish sport that ruined a little part of the "vacation", meeting you guys was AWESOME!

I'd wish I could stay a little longer, just a week more would do. So I wouldn't miss out so many of you. Well, for those whom I could "surprise", thanks and cya again in April, this time no surprises =x.

For those I've missed, I'm so so so sorry, you'd have to look at my schedule to see why in the world I could miss meeting up or surprising you. =(

Anyways, it's gonna be more gruesome this coming months, just because we're back from our 2 weeks break. Thank God I didn't stretched the total 2 weeks and have at least 3 days to rest.

So it's "Here I Come San Diego" and "So Long! Singapore!"

You won't have time to pause and pray, it's not your world to slow things down. You can't evade the pressure but it piles on you. What would you do?

Bodily your mind tears you away from your Morals. Yelling and screaming at you, only to cover the whispers of the Holy Spirit...

The call to Moral Courage is a tough one, I admit that I can't always make the right choice, but as an authoritative figure, you should start making them.

Practice makes perfect, hope you'll stop figuring and start understanding... Don't make us suffer under your charge.

San Diego wouldn't rained today, as it has been not raining for the past how many months since I've been here.

The rain wouldn't stopped when I reached Mt. Soledad - Memorial for Veterans.

The clouds wouldn't peeled to let the Sun shine on the Cross

I've wouldn't STUMBLED upon the Windansea Beach area and got an ULTRA cheap and nice haircut there.

I've wouldn't have found another nice rollercoaster park in the middle of nowhere.

The rain wouldn't start pouring when I left the area.

I wouldn't have stopped at my favourite IHOP restaurant for pancakes before heading back home.

Holiday Season

It's the holidays!

Yesterday's Thanksgiving and it was a cool day of rest for me =)
The night before though we had to work, I had a swell Singapore style dinner =)
Though majority of the gang didn't really know what's Thanksgiving about, I thought that spreading the fun to all =)

So it was Turkey dinner at my place, we had lots of food. Derrick bought a GIGANTIC Pizza which I've no idea how he put it in his car. Wang baked his 1st cake for our birthday boy!

I guess no matter where you are, deep down you'll never change. I strongly believe so, our roots will never change. No matter how far I run, I'll always belong...

Today's Black Friday. It's an unofficial holiday, most of the people here are not working lest those working in shopping centers. If Singaporeans are Kiasu-s, Americans are Kiasee-s.

As early as yesterday afternoon while the shops are closed, a long queue had started to form up with tents, tarps and mattresses laid on the floor all trying to be the 1st few to get into the shops so to get the cheapest deals.

Can't blame them really, the sales here are REAL sales. Not like Singapore, there are 50% to 70% off when this kind of sales go on. Some rare cases 90% off can be seen.

Don't worry, I remembered you guys and got something for all. BUT please don't expect them to be expensive stuff ok? I'll go broke if they were.

So I've shopped today and I can go sightseeing tml! Church on Sunday and I think i'll be re-vitalised for the rest of the mths. Christmas is coming too... How I wished I'm there with you guys, probably discussing on what to do, where to go etc...

Nobody's gonna buy me any gifts this year =( I'm so sure of it...... And it's nobody's fault too. How sad...

It's the flu season...

The whole building is filled with flu =(
Right now i'm coughing and suffering the lethargic-ness and feeling so lousy...

Just finished USN's Fire Fighting and Damage Control final day and I almost died.. Can't believe that I been thru that. Thank God.

Gotta head on back to work again after lunch. I hate this kind of stupid scheduling... 3 Days of Fire Fighting training, drawn away from my A/C servicing. Gonna do the setup of the inauguration after that.

Sat and Sun are rehearsal days.

Had to rush thru the servicing last sunday for nth because the ETR was extended... Those ppl planning are real ASSHOLES... They just don't think properly...

Right now what I really nid is to have a mth of rest, UNINTERRUPTED rest. Time to work out and go on a proper diet... Feel so bulged right now.. Bad eating habits and no time for exercising... Pray for me please...

Hooked on watching Dr. House. It's just such an interesting show. Love the drama =)

Gone onto the actual set of Desperate housewives and all the rides from the movies.
Saw the Stars with Handprints on the Walk of Fame.
Went to the Kodak Theatre, had a whopping great meal there.
Of coz I also took a few shots of the famous Hollywood Sign.

Of coz stopping at a few of the Premium Outlets for some shopping =P

Really wished you guys were here to share the fun with me.

Thank God for my hands...

I've just realised how precious my hands were.
Without them, I couldn't work...
Unable to cook the wonder meals.
Not able to play my guitar, xbox or computer.

Imagine bathing without hands...
Changing my bed would be a huge problem...

I guess I'd be a bitter bitter person without them...

Perhaps God knew that I would be and He let me "abuse" them without taking them away!
It just occur to me that my hands had been thru so much...

Day 10 in San Diego...

Hmmm... everything seems to be settled down as if we've been living here for quite some time. I guess when there's work to do, alot of things and concerns will be pushed aside.

I've done all I can to make myself feel at home, but then still without YOU all it's not the same =(

The weirdest thing is my cell group ministry here has not started! =( bummer... Everyone's too busy with their own stuff and there is even very little communications... Some ppl don't even seem to be who they are here... Good and bad I guess.

Anyway, bought a new Full HD LCD TV for my Xbox! WAY too cool! Contemplating whether to get Wii and get my neighbors to play together. Maybe buy it on sale and bring it back to SG? Hehe.

Driving over here needs a little getting to use to. Not only everything's on the opposites, the rules are pretty funny... When there's a STOP sign, you REALLY gotta do a complete stop! Usually they are always at the cross junctions.

Guess what'll happen if 4 cars from 4 directions stopped altogether? Who dya' think will go 1st? No traffic lights!

Heading to Las Vegas tml! Weeee! Not gonna go to the casinos of coz, going to see the Nevada desert, Cirque du Solei, STOMP, Theme Parks, MGM Grand and of coz the Outlet Malls for MAD MAD Discounts!!! It's the LABOR Day weekend! WOOOT! Hahah.

Pray for safety as it's 330 miles journey and we'll be setting off early morning 6AM. Pray that there'll be enough rest for the drivers and good driving conditions =)

Yeap... in fact it's 5 days after.

I'm for the 1st time starting to feel home sick...
Not literally "home" sick but more of "Singapore-sick".

Probably because I won't be able to get to see YOU, yes YOU for the next 6 mths?
Rumors are there's gonna be an extension and it seems very very likely =(

Arggh! Everytime I go for groceries, or listen to my mp3s, I think of the wonderful wonderful times I had with you guys that maybe I took for granted...

Haven't really started working, this 1 week used for settling down. So instead of me rumbling about how much I miss you guys, let's see what I've done the past 5 days or so!

25th
Landed in SD, went to make Miltary ID - this is a super super cool piece of card. There's discounts from alot of shops, no tax and have special access =D. Checked into the base's Bachelor's Quarters - very nice apartment. Internet, kitchenette, toilet, double bed, wardrobe and a mini living room. Pretty much of what I have now in my condo-like apartment. Bought some microwave dinners to last for the next few days.

26th
Went to bought furnitures for the condo, went to IKEA! Hehe, it's almost exactly the same as the Alexanda Road one! Only a little bigger, other than that the layout, prices, items is all the same! For a while it didn't felt like USA =P Even the restaurant serves the same food! Meatballs! Made a local bank account. Now I feel like I'm a US Citizen... Left with SSN and Driver's licence only...

27th
Moved into the condo i'm living now! WOOT! I love it! Finally I can decorate MY OWN ROOM and call it MY OWN HOME! No Restrictions! Yea. It's very very nice. But soon to find out it's a really huge pain... Countless times of going to supermarkets, Ikea and back and forth just because the car cannot put so much stuff coz we're all sharing cars. zzz

28th
Continuation of yesterday... Setup the internet and stuff, and finally settled down with the room thingy... Went to 99 Ranch, an asian supermarket! MILO!!! OLD TOWN WHITE COFFEE!!! All the things that I can buy from Singapore! Haha. It comes with a price - a hefty one =( USD$7+ for the coffee... USD$3+ for a small bottle of milo powder =( owww...

29th
Today??? Note that here is 15hrs behind SG.
Finally a time to rest... Basically woke up to view rental cars. Probably gonna rent car all the 6 mths, more logical and economical. That means I'm not gonna be able to drive the car of my dreams =( Nvm. Ate a philly cheesesteak which I've longed for after the Florida trip =D. Soccer downstairs like in SG! All the ang mohs were watching and cheering us on when we scored! LOL. Had a small BBQ session with all the mates on the rooftop. The view's super beautiful but I didn't took any pictures coz my house is part of the Navy base =( Well let me see if I can get permission for that in future =)

So that's about it. I hope everything back home is doing fine. I really really wanna hear from YOU! Yes YOU! Haha.

Hotboys Kelong last week...

Tioman & KL trip...

Thank God for the holidays!

Went to Tioman & KL with the Poly gang 2 weeks back =) It's a long long long awaited trip. It sure was fun! Lotos of fishes and silliness! Gotta do it again with Hui and Zonghan.!

Last week went to Hotboys Kelong with Master Shifu and co. Though never caught any big ones with my huge rod, we had alot of fishing action! The night one was more exciting as we hunt for cuttlefishes/sotongs with the spotlights. Damn cool =) I'm so hooked on fishing now!

I wonder, if I'd took a different path, would I be enjoying theses? Though it may seem so insignificant but I really enjoyed the company and the fun times with my friends. Some may say it's the dynamics of the group but I say that the activities played a huge part.

The kelong reminded me of the 'adventurous' convoy with the Gliderz gang, fun on the beach even though it's only an empty beach with some of us. Crazy running about and trying our best to throw each other into the sea. It's really really fun.

Tioman reminded me of the time Nick brought us there. This time round I stayed in the same block as the previous time, conincidence? Don't think so. Lots of reminder =)

I'm just wondering what's to come in the future...
After I finish my trip to the US, I'm gonna be stuck with at least 3 yrs on my contract. After that 3 yrs, I can leave and "set my soul free". Or do I wan to continue the remaining 3 more years, try for part-time degree and grab the cash? Which is more God-pleasing? Breaking away from the bondage of men-written laws or making full use of what I can?

Agrh! My knee is killing me! Only 3 days without exercising and a basketball practice killed my knee... Must be getting old... =(

Anws... While Kang in Brunei was enjoying his own Movie Marathon, me and Beng were in JB enjoying ours!

Watched a total of FIVE shows! Haha. Crazy right? First up, we watched Terminator, followed by 17 again. Aliens VS Monsters. State of Play and lastly Drag me to Hell...

Woot! My mind's bloating! Hahaha.

Terminator was really nice a show itself. But trying to link all 4 ep is gonna be a huge headache.. I guess nid to go watch T3 to refresh myself...

17 Again was really cool. Matthew Perry looks pauchy man... He shld slim down more... Funny how he made his wife pregnant in high school yet preach about abstinance when he's a dad. Cool show though.

MVA was excellent! Didn't expect much from this but well, it's 2nd best among the lot. Lots of Laughs throughout =)

State of Play is really really awesome, good plot, good storyline. But it's gonna be a real boring one if u're not into the story.

Drag me to Hell... the images are still etchy in my mind... Brrr.... Better not watch this if u got a weak heart. Either the out of no where sudden image shocks u or the abrupt loud blast of screams deafen u. Good show to keep me awake for the last ride home! Haha.

This past few days I've been trying to "show my love" to all of you, pardon me if I failed. I really dunno how. It's just hard for a guy to use words and there's only that much I can do. So yea...

Right, on to the flying off. 02 May going to Florida, West Palm Beach for my Course. I'll come back on the 6th June. 10th August will be going to California, San Diego for my detachment, where I'll learn how to work on the aircraft. Only be back by 31st May 2010.

Cleared my FFI, but I found out something that made me very very very sad. I can't be a good singer, because I'm very deaf in my left ear... My hearing test almost didn't make if because my left ear is not picking up alot of tones. Good thing I wasn't a pilot.... So pardon me if I "HUH?" when you are speaking to me or I seemed to ignore you coz I'm really quite deaf. Felt so shitty when I got the news.

My passport is coming back, but too late... It's kinda cool coz imprinted is the American VISA. I saw the rest who got it. Shucks man. If it's not for my photo, I'd be in JB enjoying like crazy.

I've yet to settle my car stuff, still got lots of packing yet to do. I'm really tired and lack of rest. Hopefully my workplace won't call me back from leave or bother me with phone calls. I really thank God for the 1 week of leave. I really wanna have some peace and quiet this week.

Though you guys can call me out but I'd prefer a simple and quiet session.

Fish Spa!

I've been wanting to try Fish Spa lately, now I've done it! Whoo hoo! lol.

Went to Bishan with my colleagues for prawning, walked past the Foot reflexology & massage area and saw the Fish Spa thingy.

$13 for 30 mins! Wah.. that's very cheap.
$30 for 30 mins Fish Spa + Head/Shoulder/Hand massage. WOOT! I went in without thinking =P

Money well spent.

The fishes were like waiting for a feast, before I even put my legs in, they swam over. The feeling is very ticklish, and because of the sight of so much fishes swarming towards your legs and the knowledge of the fish "eating" your skin, you can't help but feel overwhelmed. The initial normal reaction is to jump out of the water.

After awhile the ticklish-ness turned to a comfortable vibrating motion as all the fishes simultaneously nibble on ur smelly feet. LOL. Very shiok! Haha.

Now my legs feels very smooth =P I wonder if there are any full body therapy? haha.

Cool man. Gotta go back some time =)

WHOA!!!

Jurong Point after it's 2nd extension is REALLY HUGE! To be frank, a little tooooooooooo big for me. Haha.

The original block of shops (JP1) became less crowded and less lively. All the hype were over at JP2 where there's an Asian Food Market (FEAST) where you have lots of specialty food like Anjappar!!!

There's also a Japanese Street! Lots more of shops, alot of womens shops (women money easy to ~~cheat~~ earn =P).

The place was pretty messy, I even lost myself in the carpark forgetting where I parked. Hmm... I lost myself into the once so familliar places as there were toooooo many new shops! The new extension was bigger than the original building!

I believe that this is the biggest neighborhood shopping center in Singapore. Maybe can "fight" with Vivo City =P I din't lose myself in Vivo!

Communications upgrade!

Just a random thought.

Yahoo! is celebrating 25 years of communications! Wow... that's fast... Guess we've come a long way.

I remembered the 1st time I faced the internet was when I was sec 1. Dial up on the 56k modem was like hell. But it was really fun when you got online and started to "see" everyone after school on MiRC. Almost everyone.

Then came some of us with handphones... I remembered those ppl with their Nokias, bulging out of their pockets trying to hide it from teachers. Crazy! They had their customisable covers and keypads, some even had lights!

My 1st phone was an Ericsson, those flip to talk and only with 1 line of text to display. That was one of the coolest phone you can ever get coz you can change the ANTENNA and fit some color lighting onto it! Yea, it has an antenna. LOL. That was sec 2? My Nokia came in only around end of sec 3, when I caught the bandwagon =P

Broadband came! Alot of us had signed up for broadband, school also invested with computers in classes with internet access. After school or during breaks we all will crowd round and play online games.

When we had pocket of chances to use the computers in the lab, we never fail to log on to Neopets or Umbar to play and compete. It's amazing that we're all so united for 1 common thing.

MSN became popular as we all had to email assignments. Mr. Ang and Ms Ong always used the Yahoo! Group to give us extra curriculum. A new dreadded means of homework =P We started to sneakily SMS every little thing to each other even we're in class! It's like invisible paper notes being thrown to each other.

Laptops were also starting to become common, WITS during sec 2 exposed me to using laptops for presentation and projects. I remember Mr. Sidek, Ms Yen and Ms Ong always use the laptops, to show videos and to teach. It was pretty cool at that time.

I got my 1st laptop after sec 4, it lasted for 5yrs until the screen was gone. During those amazing 5 years, it has helped me finish my projects, teach in BB, facilitate in Church Service and all my communications and gaming needs! It even synced with my Samsung E700A!

I got a Windows Mobile Device soon after and everything was so natural. It was a high tech gadget at that time and really a ALL-in-one communicator. From emails, sms, MSN to phone calls, it did alot for me =)

Now, we can even VLOG n GPS all in 1 device at the palm of our hands. Wow, we've really come a long long way. Quite cool huh? I wonder what will we be using in the future...?

So zui was my reaction when I saw Angelia... Haha, I now understand why the expression "白衣天使" came about. Really an angel, though she wore green that day.

Was admitted to TTSH... I was woken up by a very nauseatic feeling at about 6am... I wanted to continue to slp on it to let it go away but the feeling grew stronger.. Finally woke up and rush to the toilet only to find that I could only cough out saliva and the "feel" was coming on even worst....

Then the 1st burst of vomit came... So too was the intense 11 out of scale of 10 pain in sides of the head. I almost collasped to the ground but was supported by my arms on the sink... I asked my dad to send me to hospital... Which on the way I puked and the headache grew even more...

Terrible. It is like someone has a huge head-size caliper, from the inside pushing the skull out, from the outside pushing everything in... When I reached the A&E I was placed on the wheel chair and after that everything gone into havoc mode.

The pain was 15/10.... I was crying - yes crying.. the pain is unbearable. It's like flashing the brightest white like into your eyes yet you can't close them... The doctor injected morphine and anti-nausea fomula and sent me for a CT scan... Scan was good. No bleeding in the brains... The vomitting continued and even when I have absolutely nothing in my stomach I still kept on puking... Water, HCI, bile... etc....

The 1st day I had 4 times of blood tests... 4 holes in my left arm... They put me on drip on the right hand.... day 2 another 4 times... this time another 3 on the left, 1 on the right.... Angelia popped up unexpectedly. Haha, just nice she also attached to the ward during her attachment previously. Thanks missy Ngian for accompanying me. Even though most of the time I'm slping =P

The puny sissy looking doctor reminds me of House. The way he talk to the junior doctors is just like the way House talks to the rest. I dun like him... not at all. And to say he is so gay is just to complimentary for him.

One of the craziest things happened to me... The asked to perform a lumbar puncture... So they can verify the brain is not bleeding... Basically the brain is linked to the spinal cord, any bleeding the cord would pick it up. So they wanted to put an IV tube into my spine and drain out some fluid... My 1st reaction is "Are you kidding me?" Then again... if it's bleeding in the brain, the doctor told me it would be paralysis or stroke... So why risk it? A little pain for a huge assurance...

Oww oww oww... Shall skip the details...

Had to lie on my back flat for at least 4 hrs... Imagine the boredom... And still puking...

NYJ came to visit. Thanks girls... Love u all. Patrick came to visit.. Thanks Cell group leader. Thanks for the book and fruits. Eileen din manage to come but it's ok. Was worried that you were gonna cook porridge and bring over. Thank goodness u din. If not I would puke everything out. =P

Evening of day 2 was the stopping of all the vomitting and pains and what not. Heard from the doctor I could be discharged. Thank Goodness.

Now really need to rest for the lumbar puncture... having the side effects of headaches... Cannot sit too long or stand too long... Lying down is the best.... But I've got so much to do.... Haiz....

What a TRIP!!!

Yea! So we're back from our fun fun Kelong Trip!

It's sooooo fun and was well excited about! Didn't waste my effort to be "overly-excited" =P

Anywayz, wanna thank Martin, Eunice, Nydia, Joan, Diana, Cherie, Arthur, Jonathan, Kheng Seng, Yee Nern & Yee Herng for holidaying with me! It was a really super memorable one!

Although this is the 2nd time I'm there, the stuff were the same and the things were the same but the experience was totally different and surprisingly more fun than the previous time!

Our 1st fun encounter was me leading everyone into the wrong turns! =X Of coz we still reached the Jetty on time & in fact really had to thank God that the ferry was late if not we'll probably not be registered =)

Next was a roller coaster ride from Tanjung Leman Jetty to our Kelong. The sea was more than rough! It was a "ship-breaker"! I didn't recalled my ferry was so rough the previous time.... The 1st crash of the waves really scared me to death... Really thank Jesus for His protection, I was surprised that the rest of you thought it was fun coz it really scared the hell out of me!

We caught lots of fish! More than the 1st time round! We sun-tanned on Sibu, the sun was great! We were crashing the waves that were so huge!!! There was once the waves was about 1.5 times higher than us! Yee Herng lost his glasses while we were playing there =( We played a little beach volleyball, kicked the ball around. Yelled at the open sea. Drink some coconut...

Food were the same when I 1st came, perhaps this time round more food (quantity) and 1 new dish, Cereal Sotong? The gang enjoyed it! We played Bridge and Sabotuer, chit chat here and there. Played with fishes. Gave those 1st timers to fishing a little fishing lesson. It's really fufilling to see those 1st timers catching fish on their own! I'm so proud! =P

At night we continued fishing, but most of the time we were SINGING KARAOKE!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! Favourite!!! The best part is, it's FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dunno why, but they are suppose to charge, yet the uncle for the 2nd time did not charge me! WOOT! =) So fun!!! Joan is another Karaoke siao folk =X

Ring ring ring! Supper time! SQ sure would loved to join us if he could. Eat, play, sleep, eat, play, sleep... HAAHAHA! Kidding =X The meals were great. I loved the Tea, I think everyone did, LOOK at the pics and you can see! Martin said that the coffee is quite good too! BTW, it's FREEFLOW! Hehe.

Photos, photos, photos! Waiting for Eunice, Joan & Dia's photos =) Truly a wonderful holiday with you guys. I hope you all enjoyed yourselves too. I really really did. I wanna apologise if I've in any way given you wrong impression of the Kelong.

I know Yee Herng got the shock of his life when he had to travel for miles, take a ferry that what seems life threatening PLUS his sea-sickness. Miss his band camp where he's the lead drummer, and lose his specs in the vast sea. Worse of all he had to sleep on bunk bed and paid $88 for all this. =(

Sorry Yee Herng, but i'm very sure you've enjoyed yourself in this "worse holiday ever" right??? Haha!

Speak of the devil!!!

Din slp much last night...

Woke up early to prepare a brief to the NCC Air Students from various schools visiting my base. I'm an ambassador for SBAB! Haha. I missed teaching... Esp in BB & today I got to taste and be reminded wad's it like again =)

Work work work after that... Non stop... omg.... zzzZZzz... Imagine a heavy head but you just cannot let your juniors down.... That kind of responsibility as I/C... The aircraft is in your hands and anything wrong will cause a life... OMG...

After work went to check out Lovelle's laptop... Seriously it's cursed.... This is the only laptop I couldn't completely troubleshoot.... Initially I thought it was the virus... But it turns out that the drivers aren't around and the laptop doesn't detect any WLAN adaptors... At least I cleared the mouse issue... SOOOO irritating!!!

After tat headed to 313 for dinner.... long awaited... We saw Ken & Jon.... haha...
During dinner Shermaine saw her fren...

As we were walking back we saw Jin Jie...

Semakau Island

Today's NE trip is one of the most deeply enriching trip I've ever been! We went to Pulau Semakau! Any idea where's that? It's in Singapore actually, one of the South-west island. To be exact, it's actually a landfill. World's 1st landfill that make use of the sea!

It is really a great refreshing experience, nobody can imagine that Singapore has such a beautiful almost untouched island all made out of the everyday waste of Singaporeans. The place don't look like much but if really offered all of us spledid views that nowhere else in Singapore you could find.

The island is just North of Senang, Pawai and Sudong. The purpose of this place is actually a landfill for the dumping of incenerated wastes produced from mainland. There's another purpose when the whole island is filled up - to convert it into either resort island or golf course. Amazing isn't it?

Needless to say I was very very impressed. It made me wondered if I can buy this island and use it for myself. Haha, of coz until I can get $610 million to buy back what the govenment spent on the infrastructure it'll not be a problem. I'm guessing $1 billion to buy the island AND build it up would be a comfortable sum. Somebody wake me up pls! LOL.

I love the place. I will bring you guys there one day. BB/GB outing. It's opened to public, we can have a tour, they offered us to camp overnight - that means we can get to watch the sunrise and well, the whole island would be free for us to use. We can conduct a Naturalist Stage 1 or Total Defence. End the day with a BBQ in full view of the sunset, now ain't that nice?

It's really one of the rare gems that Singapore has and we have at least until 2025 when the coversion of the island takes place. We gotta visit this place some time!

A Day in Sibu!

Yea! Went to Sibu island - Pulau Sibu. Nice long - awaited break! The experience was pretty refreshing. Alot of 1st as well! 1st time going overseas with my colleagues. 1st time going on a kelong. 1st time I really caught a fish by meself! Really had fun. Well rested and ready to go! =)

Deepavali day! We went to Mount Faber park in search of the illusive Henderson Waves =) After that was steamboat @ AMK central. It's been a long while.... I really enjoyed myself =)

29th. Happy 22nd to Suki! Fish & Co @ Douby Ghaut. The repetitive irritaing birthday gig by the staff was so lame! They could've done much better. Went to Walla Walla after that, The Amps were GREAT!!! Simply magnificent!

30th. Happy 22nd to SQ! Steamboat with Judah & Solomon. Wanted to vomit after that... Too full.. Haha.

OMG!!! My aunt found my blog! Please don't tell mummy or daddy about it! So weird...

Sometimes words are so hurting... I learnt this lesson twice in just under 24hrs...

Black n White is even worse... That's why God gave us faces to make things clearer with emotion...

The same "huh" could mean "pardon me", could mean "what is it", could be a stern "how dare you" or "I'm shock".

Trying to be sensitive... Once again....

How can people be so sick in the mind to even do such things...?

Sometimes man are so sinful that it irks the hell out of everyone, bring the worst in them... Been asked why I'm angry and here's the damn pile up...

Camera used without permission, spoilt and not given a damn... Had to buy a new one and the claim have to be waited... Was threatened with my career because of my f**king reaction towards my f**king superior about my camera... This place is not a place for me to strive anymore....

Just don't get it do you? Really being pushed around like crap.......... I hate interceptions... You weren't suppose to be in the picture and caused me to rush, made me miss out and I had to hide everything.

Assholes... Why are you so jealous? Does it mean when I'm close to ppl you have the right to be jealous with me and start hurting ppl around me? What did I do that you have to hurt the ones I love the most? So much for not standing in my way eh? Go and f**k urself up man. Freak.

I just hate it when you have so much things inside and not say. It just burns like hell... You're not the only one suffering... The pain of knowing pain but not knowing why... Stop putting up a front... Let it go. You're not treating me like a frend in the past anymore... What happened? I really miss you even though you are just infront of me.

Aussie land part 2

18 days is not a long time, also not very short...

I don't really like living in Aussie land... Holiday maybe... The cost here is high, well this time the people ain't that hostile, that's because almost over 500 of us are here and they can't do anything about it. In fact I've got some very interesting approaches =P

Been cooking my own food. Not eating outside food really helps a whole lot. But having to cook you own meals every day is really a drag, the prep, and the after math... Bothersome... Will post some pics very soon...

The worst thing is the travelling... Be it on the road or to & fro Singapore, it's a long distance... I hate to take such a bloody long flight...

Will be coming back on this Sat. Hopefully I can get a good rest on the plane... Bothersome... =(

Feels like ~~shit~~... No strength in any part of my body at all and I'm so drained...

Funny how ppl like to poke fun at others but cannot take jokes themselves. You really must say that to ppl you wished would not stay single n available for long...

Friends don't have to be like this... Ouch n double ouch... Ever felt wad it's like to be the surplus being pushed around like a piece of crap? Hahaha.

Mamma Mia was GREAT... The scriptwriter is magnificent! To string ABBA's decades worth of songs in a single musical is just brilliant...

But it's gonna be a shame when ppl don't appreciate original ABBA and mistake it for Mamma Mia's by product... It's like those kind of situation where you know a certain song den when ppl remake it and the whole world thinks it's that way... How irritating...

Benny cameoed in the show!! OMGosh! He never changed! Still the same man... Wad a surprise! Haha.

Beng's gonna catch the ABBA fever soon, hopefully it won't be a shallow fad... Things just goin too fast for ppl to sit down n slowly appreciate stuffs...

Holiday

Finally got a chance to slack around.

Although I'm on overseas leave for the past 2 days but I still don't get enough of it. Guess no one will be satisfied no matter how many days you have. Haha.

Anyway thurs was swell. Went to CS with Beng & JX. Hmm... I love Furusato! Finally brought got to share the DELIGHTFUL food with you guys. Was so excited that I forgottened to take photos!! Sian. Haha. But it's really worthed it.

Watched 2 shows. Black Water and Death Race. Hmm... Black Water is really a budget aussie film... Sucks... Better than the Seeker though. Haha. Death Race was pretty cool but was really quite lame... The plot is kinda dumb in the end. It's just a show anyways. Haha.

Yesterday's trip with Suki, Sida n ZH was kinda a bummer. Coz we went in without any plans and anyhow hamtum. Ugh... Next time we gotta plan well before we go in. If not it'll be like lost in the lalang. haha.

Nick asked me if I'm going for the retreat.
He said I could've accomplished more this year.

2 things that pronged my mind. Where am I next year? Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, give to God what belongs to God...

Jesus, show me what belongs to you and I'll gladly give...

Ex Wallaby. Hopefully my last SP detachment. I get a feeling the ST guys are going to plan a big farewell for us later... Farewell...
